How to Wear a Saree if You're Petite

Being 5'4" or under doesn't mean you can't look stunning in a saree — it just means knowing a few smart tricks. Here's your complete guide to draping a saree that flatters your petite frame beautifully.

1. Choose Lightweight Fabrics

Heavy fabrics like raw silk or heavy brocade can overwhelm a petite frame. Instead, opt for:

• Mul Cotton — airy and easy to manage
• Modal Silk — flows gracefully and feels light
• Tissue Silk — adds shimmer without bulk
• Georgette or Chiffon — drapes close to the body, creating a lean silhouette

2. Opt for Narrower Borders

Wide borders (above 5–6 inches) can visually cut your height. Choose sarees with borders under 4 inches to keep the eye moving upward and elongate your look.

3. Manage Saree Length

Standard sarees are 5.5–6 metres, which can be too long for petite women. Here's how to handle it:

• Tuck in a little extra fabric at the waist during the pleating step
• Make slightly smaller pleats to reduce bulk at the front
• Ensure the saree falls just at or slightly above the floor — not dragging

4. Go for Smaller, Delicate Prints

Products can be exchanged within 6 days of delivery only under the following conditions:

• If the product received is damaged or has a manufacturing defect.
• If you have received a different product/color than what you ordered.

To help us process your exchange smoothly, please record a clear package opening video from the beginning while opening your parcel.

Color Disclaimer

We make every effort to capture our sarees as close to their original shade as possible. However, due to photography lighting, screen brightness, and individual device settings, a slight color variation of 10–15% may occur.

Such minor color differences will not be considered as a defect and will not qualify for exchange.

Exchange Process

• Once your exchange request is approved, we will share the return shipping details with you.
• The product must be unused, unworn, and in its original condition.
• All original tags and packaging must be intact.
• Once we receive the product, it will go through a quality check.
• After successful verification, your exchange will be processed.

The customer will be responsible for one-side return shipping charges.

In case the same product is unavailable, we will provide a store credit with lifetime validity, which can be used for any future purchase from Knots of India.

Products Not Eligible for Exchange

Products purchased during festive sales, clearance sales, or special discount campaigns are not eligible for return or exchange.

Since some of our premium pieces involve special finishing, quality checks, and careful packaging, certain orders may take a little longer to dispatch.

Delivery Timeline

Once dispatched, orders usually reach you within 2–6 working days, depending on your location, pin code, and courier availability.
